    Punjabi's at UCR

    Other

I want to establish a vibrant and inclusive space at UCR where Punjabi culture is not only celebrated but uplifted through meaningful events, cultural education, and student support. Punjabi students make up a growing part of the UCR community, and it’s important that our heritage, language, and experiences are recognized and shared with the wider campus. My goal is to create a club that brings students together through a variety of events—such as cultural nights, dance performances, holiday celebrations like Vaisakhi, language workshops, guest speaker panels, and social mixers. These events will offer both Punjabi and non-Punjabi students a chance to engage with and learn about Punjabi traditions in a fun, respectful, and educational way. Beyond hosting events, this club will also serve as a platform for Punjabi-identifying students to connect, find community, and express themselves freely. Whether someone is deeply rooted in Punjabi culture or just beginning to explore their identity, I want every member to feel seen, supported, and welcomed.
