The Biotechnology Club @ UCR is a professional group at the University of California, Riverside, committed to supporting students interested in the broad field of Biotechnology. We function as a vital link between students' academic studies and the real-world applications in the industry. Our main goal is to help students understand the wide variety of career opportunities in biotechnology. To do this, we form connections with experienced professionals and well-known organizations in the field, encouraging them to share their knowledge and experiences with our members through talks, seminars, and networking events. We also are working towards offering practical workshops designed to improve important skills needed in the biotechnology industry. These workshops will cover topics like why biotechnology is important and what benefits it offers, the job prospects someone can have with a degree related to biotechnology, how to build a strong resume, using industry-specific software and hardware, how to perform well in job interviews, and hands-on experience with lab equipment.
