Sisters Affirming our Social-Cultural Identities (S.A.S.I.) was established as a cultural enrichment and advocacy group driven towards the advancement of Black women everywhere. S.A.S.I. is intended to center those who identify as Black women and address their unique intersectional oppressions. We are here to empower, support and advocate on behalf of Black women across the African diaspora, spiritually and emotionally, mentally and physically. On the campus of University of California, Riverside, S.A.S.I. will serve as an organization that seeks to encourage women to work towards their own personal self-development by providing a healthy space that promotes vulnerability and growth. S.A.S.I. will use its platform to discuss, dissect issues that are relevant and directly affect women of color, black women and the black community overall. S.A.S.I. is an organization that is intended for the growth of women of color. We will stand in alliance and solidarity with our male counterparts. We will work to strengthen and foster a healthy relationship within our community amongst the men and women on this campus.
