Karing Kits

Our mission is to increase access to feminine hygiene products in nearby areas to homeless women. While these kits are not made exclusively of feminine hygiene products, they are directed at maintaining adequate access to these cleaning products in order to help reduce the amount of avoidable illnesses caused by lack of resources and accessibility. These illnesses include, but are not limited to, toxic shock syndrome, UTIs/RTIs, fertility issues, yeast infections, increased risk of cervical cancer, and bacterial vaginosis. While many of these illnesses are not deadly, they are avoidable when good feminine hygiene is practiced. Most local homeless shelters do not provide basic cleaning supplies for women since these are seen as “nonessential” supplies, in comparison to clothes and food. This is a precarious misconception that endangers the health, comfort, and safety of the women living in these unfavorable conditions. Our goal is to provide the items and support needed to keep these women healthy, clean, and happy while expanding and serving our community.
