The Chinese Student Association at U.C. Riverside is a social, cultural, and service-orientated organization that strives to promote the Chinese American culture throughout the Riverside community. CSA not only emphasizes cultural and political awareness as Chinese Americans, but also community awareness. We provide various opportunities throughout the quarter that allow our members to develop leadership skills through our service-oriented activities. CSA also provides a social outlet for students with similar backgrounds and interests to form connections with one another. Our logo is the Chinese character "xin" which stands for heart. The theme that we have been promoting is "Two Worlds, One Heart” which is a representation of our Chinese Heritage fused with the American Culture that defines the Chinese American. Chinese Culture Night is a proud tradition that presents the Chinese American identity while showcasing the uniqueness of our culture in a live stage performance. Culture Night significantly influences all those that are involved because it allows us to come together to celebrate our heritage, acknowledge our culture, and by doing so, we understand that those constituents are an underlying definition of who we are as Chinese Americans; Celebrating the past, understanding the present, looking to the future.
