BE A MENTOR Are you a current student interested in becoming a mentor? Your role as a Chicano Link Peer Mentor is to connect with new UCR students. You would serve as a positive role model/mentor and assist incoming students with their transition to UCR and connect them to our UCR familia . It is important that incoming students receive information on campus support services like Chicano Student Programs. Chicano Link Peer Mentors must... Be a UCR student (junior or higher) with a cumulative and quarter GPA of 2.5 or higher Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills Be aware of issues specifically related to Chicano/Latino students Be open-minded and flexible Be energetic, motivated, and positive Be willing to learn, grow and attend training as needed Work with mentees for at least 30 minutes every two weeks Apply today and discover how rewarding mentorship can be.
