Sociology Graduate Student Association

The mission of the SGSA is to serve as a resource and aid for the successful development of graduate students within the sociology department at UCR. SGSA seeks to accomplish this mission by making students aware of the different facets of the sociological discipline and through active involvement in the educational experience of students in our department. By bringing together individuals from different backgrounds, experiences and values, who share a commitment to serve their society, SGSA serves as a learning experience that challenges students to continuously respond to a basic underlying question: How can we as individuals and scholars contribute to a better understanding of our society?
