The Bridging Voices in Healthcare club aims to bridge the language barriers prevalent in our healthcare system. Although there have been many improvements, such as translators and more diverse staff, communication is still an issue that needs to be addressed. Patients that do not speak English acknowledge the effort of physicians who try to speak their language. Patients who see their future medical team trying their best to understand them and make a difference will allow them to have more trust in the healthcare system and more likely want to take care of their own health. We aim to accomplish this mission by teaching our members common and important medical terminology in different languages. We also aim to educate premeds how to pursue medicine by bringing in physician and medical student guest speakers to talk about their journey.
